The School Shooting Fiction Archive

The School Shooting Fiction Archive catalogs the growing genre of school shooting fiction — books which feature a school shooting as a major plot point, of which I have identified 117 published between 1977 and 2022. In this developing digital humanities project, I bring together text mining and publication analysis to identify & visualize patterns in how we talk about school shootings. I extend that analysis to think about the effects of these texts & events on children and young adults. You can view the in-progress version of The School Shooting Fiction Archive herehttps://www.ssfarchive.org.
